General description

Large antarctic agglutinated foraminifera with a single giant nucleus (> 500um in diameter). The agglutinated test can be a transient structure.

General description

Species of Astrammina with flattened, polygonally-shaped test composed of a single layer of sand grains and containing an allogromiid-like sarcode. The test is delicate, variable in shape but typically with an angular, geometrical outline, the angles being projected out into short arms.

General description

Test elongate ovate to sausage-shaped, up to 2mm in length. Wall of two more or less separated proteinaceous membranes, single aperture, cytoplasm with numerous inclusions.

General description

Elongate organic test withtransparent reflective wall. The cell body is white and transparent with fine granules and numerous mineral particles, which are concentrated at the apertural end. A great majority of the mineral particles consist of magnetite and titanoferous magnetite.

Subfusiform test lobulate periphery, chambers inflated and overlapping, wall ornamented by narrow, strong costae, aperture with a flaring lip at the end of a short neck.
